A Little about Our School
The Union School is a two room schoolhouse on top of a hill in Union, New Hampshire. In the cupola, there is a working rope pulled bell that's rung daily by the children. Over the years, it has been occupied by many grade levels. Our School was built in 1903 in the Merrill pasture where it now stands at Railroad Ave., Union, New Hampshire (603)473-2716.

Currently, we have three classes of Kindergarten children registered for the September 2000 school year with a total of 61 children.

Arriving at Kindergarten
The Morning Class arrives at the Union School by bus from our Elementary Building,Paul School. Riding on the bus with them is Mrs. Pike, Teaching Assistant. The Afternoon Session returns back to Paul School by bus with Mrs. Pike making stops along the way to drop off some children at their homes.

Playground
Our new Playground was installed October 21 and 22, 2000, totally by volunteers of parents, staff members, school board members, and Wakefield residents. The playground has been in planning for along time and was possible by alot of hardworking and dedicated people. Thank You for all of your help raising the money, planning and installing the equipment. The children of Wakefield will enjoy for many years.

Wednesday Schedule
The Wednesday Schedule is being changed as the three sessions of Kindergarten have been expanded to four starting Monday, October 30, 2000. Please come back to check on the second quarter schedule.

Snacks and Backpacks
The children should make sure they bring everyday their backpacks even on Paul School Day. We also ask that they bring a 2 pocket folder so we can safely send home important papers. Each day that they bring it in, they get a sticker on the folder. We have snack each day when we are at the Union School. Children can buy milk for $.25 or bring their own drinks. There isn't enough time to have snack on the days we are at Paul School.

Throughout the year, we will try to post on this site things the children are learning and doing in the classroom. Click on the images below to take you to a few of the places.
